10 Reasons Why Your Comment is Unapproved or Deleted

After we had commented on someone else’s blog, most of the time it will be showing “Your comment is awaiting moderation“. The webmaster or administrators will have to approve your comment before it can be shown to the public. We will have to wait, but sometimes when we check our previous comments on their page, the comments are never showing up. And this may affect our moods to learn that our comments were not approved. But why? We never get the answer why our comments are not approved even though we spent our time reading their post and commenting on it. Hereby I am drawing 10 reasons why comments are never approved.

  1. Spam Comment
    Well, obviously.
  2. Use Keyword Instead of Name in “Name” Field
Although using keyword as anchor text is better for SEO, it will look off topic if your comment is approved. So if you really want to get your comments approved, try to avoid using keywords as your name. Place your comments on a safe boat.
  3. Comment with No Value or Inappropriate Content
Nobody will approve comments with no value. Try to write more than a few sentences rather than simply saying “Thanks” or “Nice post”.
  4. Typos, Grammatical or Spelling Mistakes in Your Comment
Double check your comment before hitting the “Post Comment” button. You do not want your comment to be deleted due to preventable errors.
  5. Improper Language
Commenting on an English Blog with Russian? Webmasters will not be able to read them.
  6. Too Hard Sell on Certain Products or Links
Sometimes when you try to sell a site or a product too much, your comments are likely to get deleted. Don’t be too pushy on places like this.
  7. You Comment On A Thread Which is Published A Long Time Ago
Most people love new content, so webmasters are likely to manage their recent posts rather than a post they written years ago.
  8. The Webmaster or Administrators Have All Left the Site, or Too Busy To Approve Comments
There are times that the blog you commenting on is already abandoned. So your comments are not unapproved, just that they are not yet processed.
If you remember the date when you submit your comment, and saw some other approved comments showing up AFTER the date of your submission and your comment is still not showing up, it is very likely that your comments are already been deleted.
  9. Problem with the URL You had Submit, Is It Not Relevant to the Subject? Or Does the URL Look Spammy?
Avoid submitting porns or adult-related URLs, same for URLs like www.cuwhslie9823kffndfa.co.cc.
  10. Administrators Just Do Not Like You
Well afterall it all depends on the admin’s mood. Some picky administrators just will not accept comments that have negative opinions or comments on their blogs. There is nothing you can do about this.

Even though sometimes you did the best you can to submit intelligent and inspirational comments, your comment could still be unapproved. I’ve been there before. Do not let this affect your day or your online experience though, just you know that it is not necessary that all webmasters out there would agree on us and appreciate what we have done. Find out more blogs that will agree on your views and simply give less attention on those devalue your value.
